Cadet of the Month - Feburary
Cadet David Alexander Turner personifies Leadership Excellence, leading by example with a perfect 300 APFT score, a 570 ACFT score, and a college GPA of 4.13 in Criminal Justice. CDT David Turner achieved Distinguished Military Graduate honors ranking in the top 10% in the nation. GSU Professor LTC Donald J. Harris selected CDT Turner for the George C. Marshall Leadership Award 2021. CDT Turner has completed Airborne School and serves as the Command Sergeant Major responsible for the training and welfare of his fellow Cadets. CDT Turner completed the Cultural Understanding Leadership Program (CULP) to Guyana in South America, and he has led in all positions with Ranger Challenge and FTX events. CDT David Turner is an amazing humble leader and the hardest worker in the room. CDT Turner is well respected by his peers and Cadre at the Georgia State University Army ROTC Panther Battalion. CDT Turner was selected into the U.S. Army Aviation branch, and he is looking forward to serving above the best. Panthers lead the way!

Cadet of the Month- Janurary
Cadet Marsalis Parks personifies Leadership excellence with his inspiring actions and positive words to build his Team. CDT Parks has a 365/300 APFT score and serves as the Cadet Battalion Commander, who led the Georgia Fall 2020 FTX that certified Land Navigation skills for MSIV Cadets and trained MSIII Cadets from Georgia Tech, University of Georgia, and Georgia State University. CDT Parks is a small business owner, a Flight School Assistant, and a member of the Alpha Kappa Psi Fraternity doing important community service work in Atlanta, GA. CDT Parks also leads Cadet recruiting by hosting our Panther Talkshow for community outreach about Army ROTC. CDT Parks credits his family as the inspiration and motivation to serve as a leader in the U.S. Army and in the community. He values education and a strong work ethic. He also hopes to lead with an educated vision and win his fellow Soldiers through hard work. CDT Parks is able to manage ROTC, college classes, and multiple leadership roles by setting priorities and attacking the most important thing first. His key to success is communicating and staying engaged with Army ROTC cadre, college professors, and his team. CDT Parks joined Army ROTC while serving in the Georgia National Guard and plans to serve as an Aviation Officer and retire from the U.S. Army.
